Components Overview

Components allows one or more existing tags (called Components) to be assigned to another existing tag (called Parent).  This allows all of the tags to move around the district, as a group, by only moving the parent tag.  Examples: laptops in a laptop cart, a mobile workstation with various technology items

As components are assigned to existing tags, the Asset Type of the tags are changed respectively.  There are three Asset Types.  They are:

A tag can only be assigned one Asset Type at a time.  Therefore, a component cannot also be a parent.

Only tags in the status of Available are eligible to be assigned to a parent.

Components acquire the assigned parent's status and location.  This includes:

As parent tags and their respective component tags move around the district, additional warning screens are displayed before completing the desired action.  

When a component is assigned to a parent, it automatically moves to the parent's current location.  This action is recorded in the tag's Status History.
