Products are the items district administrators have entered (either imported during the implementation process or added manually) into TIPWeb-IT. This creates an application wide accessible product catalog.
NOTE: If a product’s items are not going to be tagged and tracked by the tag’s unique identifier, select the Allow Untagged field to enable this feature. This allows the product to be tracked by quantity on site to site transfers across the district.
Duplicating an existing product is a time saving feature when adding similar products to TIPWeb-IT. A duplicated product must have a different Product Name and Product Number than the original product.
Merging existing products is a way to clean up the product listing within the Catalog, to eliminate duplicate and incorrect entries.
If the origin product has custom fields associated to it, decisions on how to incorporate them into the existing product must be made.
a) For Custom Fields, select the Select Matching Custom Field(s) in which the new merged product will contain.
b) Select Remove Custom Field if the field is no longer needed.
Product Number is an auto generated field. You have the option of entering your own existing product number or letting TIPWeb-IT assign the new product an auto generated TIPWeb-IT product number.
Product Names are limited to 90 characters.
Merge Product:
Product Before Merge
o Information related to the product is displayed.
o A success () or failure (
) icon appears next to each custom field for the Origin Product.
Product After Merge section contains the appropriate information about the Destination Product.
Tag Information displays “X tag(s) will be impacted by this merge” representing the quantity of Merge Tags identified.
View Inventory Details displays tags being merged
All accessories in which belonged to the origin product are moved to the destination product.
The origin product is completely removed from the catalog after completion of Merge Product.
